Jacquard Cyanotype Two-Component Awareness Set includes pre-dosed instructions and chemicals that, when combined, create a UV-sensitive solution for cyanotype printing. To create the cyanotype sensitizer, simply fill each bottle with water in a light-proof environment and mix equal parts of both solutions. Coat fabric or paper (not included) with the sensitizer in a dark room, allow it to dry, then make prints by placing objects or negative film on top and exposing them to sunlight or UV light. This process allows for the production of affordable monochrome prints. It is important to avoid ingestion, inhalation, and skin contact with the chemicals.

Cyanotype printing is a traditional method used for the inexpensive reproduction of photographs, documents, maps, and plans. Prints can be made on various natural surfaces such as paper, canvas, cotton, silk, wool, and wood. The cyanotype printing process is surprisingly simple, requiring only two inexpensive chemicals and exposure to sunlight or UV light.

To get started, fill the bottles with water to create stock solutions, coat your fabric with the sensitizer, and then expose it to sunlight or UV light. Allow your prints to dry and process them within 24 hours. The set includes two chemicals: Part A (potassium ferricyanide 2oz) and Part B (Ferric ammonium citrate 54g).
